The Village of Pigeon, Scheurer Hospital and Bluewater Thumb YFC are excited to announce the return of the Summer Rec Program!  We are able to provide participants with a variety of recreation-themed activities Monday through Thursday each week.

Program Dates:

Session 1: June 14 - June 24, Session 2: June 28 - July 8, Session 3: July 19 - July 29
(Closed Week of July 12th)

Time:  9:00 am - 2:00 pm, Monday - Thursday

            Lunch will be provided

Fees:   Free to village residents, $35 for youth out of village limits for each session

Ages:   Students going into 1st - 6th grade

The program will keep the youth active by engaging them in a variety of safe, supervised, age appropriate activities such as traditional sports, craft projects, active games, fitness, reading program, special guest speakers, as well as special day trips off site. The program will meet at the Pigeon Recreation Park, and may also utilize the YFC Youth Center (epicenter) a block from the park.

The program follows self-monitored guidelines, which will limit the number of participants to 30 per session. The Summer Rec Program maintains a 1:7 staff to participant ratio. Participants will be grouped according to age and groupped in cohort groups and staff will conduct age-appropriate recreation activities.

We will be taking day trips off site a few times.  More information will be provided on these trips after registration.

You can pick up a registration pack at either the Bluewater Thumb YFC office, the Village of Pigeon office, or download one now (see below). Completed registration forms can be dropped off anytime at the YFC office in Pigeon. We are only registering linited students, and it is first come first serve. Preference will go to village residents first, then out of village youth. Spaces will only be held for those that have completed all registration forms and turned in any moneys owed.

Any questions can be directed to the YFC Office or Eric Boyd, Jr. at 453-3239 or [email protected].
